Galerie Noire is a fine art print series based on hand-painted original works, exploring shadow, restraint and the quiet tension between what is visible and what remains concealed.
The series moves through a reduced visual language of dark tones, fragments, negative space and subtle contrasts. Rather than treating darkness as absence, the works use it as a space of depth — somewhere between protection, mystery, memory and resistance. What is hidden becomes just as important as what is shown.
Each composition begins by hand, allowing gesture, imperfection and materiality to remain present in the final image. These traces are essential to the series: small irregularities, changes in density and moments of visual silence give the works their tension and intimacy. The prints preserve that handmade origin while translating the pieces into a new, more reproducible form.
There is no fixed narrative within Galerie Noire. The works are intentionally open, inviting projection rather than explanation. Forms appear, disappear and overlap. Some feel almost figurative, others abstract, but all remain suspended somewhere between recognition and uncertainty.
At its core, Galerie Noire is concerned with what lingers beneath the surface — the things we do not always name, the spaces we protect, and the quiet emotional weight that can exist in restraint.
